1. What Cookies and Browser Storage Are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. Browser storage (local storage, session storage and the offline cache) works the same way but stays in your browser and is not sent to us automatically. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab; the others last until they expire or you clear them.

2. Cookies We Set

Cookies
CookiePurposeStrictly necessary / FunctionalLasts
cnm_visitorA random ID for your browser, used to count free allowances (such as free trip plans) fairly and to stop abuse, and to group searches and analytics events. It is not linked to your account.Functional1 year

All of these are strictly necessary or functional: the site, sign-in or fair-use limits do not work properly without them. None are used for advertising.

4. Third Parties

We do not let advertisers or analytics companies set cookies on our pages. When a map loads, your browser fetches map images directly from our map tile providers, which receive your IP address and the map area, under their own privacy policies. When you pay, you do so on Stripe’s checkout page, which uses its own cookies for payments and fraud prevention under Stripe’s policies.

If we ever turn on analytics, it will be cookieless, and our pages will not load it in a browser that sends Global Privacy Control or has opted out on our Your Privacy Choices page.

5. Your Choices

You can block or delete cookies and browser storage in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, signing in and some features will not work. We honor Global Privacy Control as described in our Privacy Policy, and you can record an opt-out for this browser on our Your Privacy Choices page.
